Jan Borowy Will Defend a Women's Right to Pay Equity at the Supreme Court on October 31, 2017

The Supreme Court of Canada granted intervenor status to a coalition of women's equality groups, the Ontario Equal Pay Coalition, the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity and the Women's Leaf Education and Action Fund (LEAF) in two pay equity cases that is significant for women across Canada. The court will hear both cases on October 31, 2017. At issue in the first case is women’s access to pay equity in female-dominated workplaces such as childcare centres. In the second case, the Court will decide how pay equity compliant wage structures are maintained to ensure substantive equality for women.

Jan Borowy and Fay Faraday, who are co-chairs of the Ontario Pay Equity Coalition, will represent the Women's Equality Coalition at Court.
