Stephen Moreau was recently interviewed in an article in HR Reporter titled What ‘exceptional circumstances’ push reasonable notice past 24 months?. This article focuses on the ‘real uncertainty’ around terminations, and focused on a recent Ontario case, Milwid v. IBM Canada Ltd., that awarded 27 months and has been making headlines.

Stephen said that it’s “a clear reminder that there remains real uncertainty as to what constitutes ‘exceptional circumstances’ that would require an employer to give a termination of employment notice greater than 24 months in length”.
