Cole is deeply committed to the rights and dignity of working people. Practicing primarily in the areas of Civil Litigation and Labour Law, he is proud to offer cost-effective representation and advice for all types of workers, in all industries and sectors. Whether he is negotiating a severance package on behalf of a non-unionized worker or acting for a trade union and its members, Cole is available to offer practical, strategic support and passionate advocacy in a manner that respects every client’s unique situation and goals.
Cole joined Cavalluzzo as an associate in 2021 after summering and articling with the firm. He has represented clients in mediation, grievance arbitration, and at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO), the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB), the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court.
Cole graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2020 and holds a B.A. in Industrial Relations from McGill University. Cole has published multiple articles and papers on labour law and policy. Before law school, Cole was an active member of a large private sector union and a policy researcher at the Canadian Labour Congress. During law school, he worked as a caseworker at Advocates for Injured Workers, a legal aid clinic, and at Building Trades Workers’ Services where he assisted tradespersons and unions with workers’ compensation matters.
