Class Actions

Cavalluzzo is a leading class actions firm. Our civil litigators specialize in class actions that advance the rights of employees, investors, and others who seek justice in and around the workplace and justice in their relations with government. Class actions allow individuals whose claims might be too small to litigate individually to seek redress through a collective court proceeding on behalf of a group of people who have suffered similar losses.

We have advanced some of the leading employment and pension and benefits class actions in Canada. Some of the class members we have served include:

  • women who were denied employment insurance benefits during parental leave;
  • shareholders who alleged investment losses due to corporate misrepresentations;
  • union members who lost their insurance benefits due to demutualization; and
  • teachers whose private school employer refused to comply with the Employment Standards Act.

More information on these and other cases we have litigated is provided below.
